Our Maple Sunday Whoopie Pies are easy like Sunday morning! Featuring vanilla cakes and maple syrup flavored cream, these whoopie pies taste like - you guested it - pancakes! Maine is well known for its production of maple syrup, so we had to give a nod to the sweet deliciousness of maple forests in our beloved headquarter state.
These whoopie pies give us weekend vibes and memories of breakfast in bed, and of our great grandfather's farm in central Maine, where maple trees were tapped regularly for syrup which was then sold in nearby farmers' markets.
The buttery vanilla cakes and maple syrupy flavored cream make the most decadent combination any Sunday lover will go crazy for!
Ingredients in our Maple Sunday Whoopie Pies:
Butter (cream, salt), unenriched flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour) sugar, egg, low-fat cream cheese (pasteurized milk and cream, whey protein concentrate, <2% of: salt, carob bean, gum, guar gum, natamycin (a natural mold inhibitor), vitamin A palmitate, cheese culture), instant clear jell, tapioca flour, water, alcohol, corn syrup, natural flavor, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, cornstarch, monocalcium phosphate), vanilla extract (water, propylene glycol, caramel color, .01% sodium benzoate (added as a preservative), phosphoric acid, salt.
Maine-iac - Chocolate Cakes With Vanilla Cream
Is there any way to quantify a chocolate cake? In this case, yes! The chocolate cakes of our famous Maine-Iac Whoopie Pies are made with Bensdorp chocolate from Holland. You throw in some butter and cream cheese to heighten the richness and you are on your way to the races. Of course, there is some sugar in the mix but not so much that it disturbs the smooth, rich, deep chocolatey goodness from the Bensdorp. It’s brownie-ish with a slight crunch on the surface but totally cakey inside. The deep chocolate flavor is the big highlight here.
The filling is just as important as the cake. The cream is mostly butter, totally whipped up with our own marshmallow. We also use a vanilla paste that is thick like honey and chock full of vanilla beans.
We call this delight THE MAINE-IAC largely because Maine had the brilliance to name whoopie pies their official state treat! Boston Strong - Vanilla Cakes With Fudge And Vanilla Cream
Our top-selling Boston Strong whoopie pies feature vanilla cakes to start off the fun with this flavor combination. We add a bit of fudge on one cake and then never call it quits till we have filled it with our vanilla cream filling. This roller coaster is up and down with chocolate and vanilla but I must admit, it’s never a disappointment! Our buttery rich vanilla cakes hold up the fudge perfectly… then while that is plenty, the vanilla cream filling really steals the show!
Our vanilla cream filling is butter and marshmallow and lots of our Madagascar vanilla paste, just to finish this ride with a twist you won’t forget!
